We all know that customer satisfaction is important to the success of a business. But is customer satisfaction enough to succeed in a grueling, competitive marketplace? The winner of this year’s discount department store customer satisfaction analysis by Roy Morgan Research is Kmart. It’s a chain that has suffered greatly at the hands of Amazon and its long term success is still very much in doubt. The question has to be asked: How important is customer satisfaction to consumers on the continuum of reasons they shop at a given retailer?
