Pew Research Center decided to analyze people who have never used the Internet. Only about 12% of American adults are off-line. There are a number of reasons they do not use the Internet; but given the opportunity with technology and training, 40% of this group have absolutely no desire to use the Internet. “They do not want or need the technology.” Demographically, they are “older, more female and had lower household incomes and educational attainment.” What this research says is how ubiquitous the Internet has become in the daily lives of most people and that given the opportunity, most people would use the Internet if they could.
