(Facebook’s sister platform, Instagram, is growing dramatically, but it appears that might simply be social media use moving from an older platform to a younger one.) This is a dramatic change from a year ago or even a quarter ago. Zachs provides more details here. The article doesn’t address why this might be happening, but it coincides with an effort to clean up various social media sites with these companies taking greater responsibility over their content. There could be a other reasons. It might simply be that social media growth has use is peaking, reaching a saturation point after hugely expansive engagement.
