Differences Between 4G and 5G

According to ZDNet, AT&T is claiming they will be delivering 5G service in several select markets in 2018 and other carriers claim they will follow in 2019. ZDNET looks at the differences these new 5G services have the potential to deliver. It is important to understand that 4G and 5G work very differently. In very simple terms, 5G uses remote servers and Artificial Intelligence to send and receive very enormous data while 4G uses older tower based systems as do 3G and LTE. This newer delivery service will allow 5G users to send and receive data 50 times faster than 4G. It opens the door to extensive virtual reality activities and probably the largest change will be its use with the Internet of Things by creating constant large bandwidth connectivity. In many ways, these capabilities are still away off. Protocols for this service are not consistent among carriers and contractors and still need to be agreed upon.
