UK campaign says legal mandates protecting kids from online negatives are needed
A new campaign by the Daily Telegraph backs legal requirements protecting kids from digital dangers and has launched a campaign on the issue. It centers on “duty of care,” which it says has long existed in British and Scottish law. The newspaper is publishing numerous articles on such subjects as internet addiction, bullying, sexting and social media techniques that deliberately keep users hooked. Earlier this year, Parliament’s Science and Technology Committee announced it was conducting an inquiry on the matter.
